Nanaimo employees
of SHAW Cable
raise $240.00 for Big Heart at
their
"Charity Cookie Off"
event !

Amanda from
SHAW wrote us a note describing the
"cookie off" event. There
were 6 bakers and 24 judges. Each Judge paid
$10 to try the cookies, and voted on which cookie
was "best". The winning
baker got to choose the charity
that would receive the donation. The winner, Shannon Hughes,
picked Big Heart Rescue. I am very excited that this
charity was the one picked
as I have gone through your web site and the stories are
amazing. I want you to know that I appreciate everything you all are
doing.
The entire
team at Big Heart Rescue sends out the warmest thanks to each and
every participant in this amazing fundraiser and your generous
donation will be used to purchase vaccinations at our next upcoming
remote in-field Healthy Dog/Cat clinic that will be held in Bella
Coola this September.
Its community
support that makes the difference in the lives of those who need our
help and the SHAW employees have made this difference by preventing
deadly diseases such as Parvo and Distemper in 14 dogs through your
donation!
Warmest
thanks,
The Big Heart Rescue Team

Bella Bella Healthy Dog & Cat Clinic 2009
The World
Society for the Protection of Animals and Big Heart Rescue held a
successful dog & cat clinic at Bella Bella and Denny Island on April
24 - 26th, 2009. Over 62 dogs and cats were provided with
vaccinations, medical check-ups, de-worming, de-fleaing, basic wound
care and for some, a shave and a hair cut!

We were
blessed with amazing community volunteers whose response to anything
we asked was a resounding, "sure we can do that"!
A huge thank
you to all our supporters, and to WSPA,
for sponsoring this project and for joining our team on this adventure.
