Look at Me Now
Ruby

Ruby has come a long way to health and recovery since coming into the care of Big Heart Rescue, then being adopted into her "forever home".

At start of care...

Now !

Her life with her new Mom, Nancy is one filled with long and lovely days spent in the woods, walking by the ocean, playing with friends or simply laying by the fireplace.

This once very sick girl was adopted when she started her road to recovery and as you can see, its been a miracle of a return to health for this senior Golden Retriever!

Ruby is a prime example of a now healthy senior who wishes for a warm and loving home as much as any other companion.  Please think about bringing home a senior as they have so much to give in return.

A huge thank you to Nancy for working with Big Heart Rescue and bringing Ruby into her life to be forever loved.

A First Anniversary Note From Ruby's Mom:

Ruby is indeed a gem of a dog. Her foster mum nursed her back to good health and she has improved steadily. Now, her coat is thick and luxurious! It repels water so she must have a strong water dog lineage. Even in the cold weather Ruby enjoys a recreational swim (sticks? Not interested!). She glides along the shore watching the ducks and keeping an eye on her little fur friend. Riding in the back of the truck (enclosed of course) is lots of fun, especially when her other dog friends are in there with her. She is very social and enjoys being with her human friends as well as other dogs. This summer she learned all kinds of new things from the dog trainer who came to visit and has proved wrong the saying “you can’t teach an old dog new tricks”. She is a real show off – particularly if treats are involved. She is much braver visiting the vet and enjoys going to the groomer! Ruby will always be grateful to her foster mum and Big Heart Rescue for her new start in life.
