Buddy !
Buddy
was hit by a truck and then attacked by dogs in a remote First Nations
community.
He has extensive injuries which include torn muscles down the left side of his body and a broken rear femur bone. By the time Buddy made his way into our arms the femur had begun to repair itself so the specialist has recommended we do not perform surgery and to begin his medical rehabilitation with swimming at Canada West Animal Hospital.
This gentle giant is thought to be a Newfie mix who weighs 85 pounds and is filled with love, soft eyes and a passionate heart. He is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, de-flead and de-wormed.
The vet guesses his age to be approximately 5 years and soon he will heal well enough to join a family who wishes for a new best friend, to adore forever.
Buddy is currently fostered with other dogs and he gets along fine with all of them. He seeks out affection from his human friends and the first night in his foster home he actually jumped on the couch to rest with his very special foster Dad!
Next week Buddy will go to the groomers to have all the horrible mats removed that are pulling on his skin and we know he will look just stunning but more important we know he will feel much better!
If you are committed to helping Buddy continue with his medical rehabilitation, are home most of the day and have a fully fenced yard please send Gail an email to spiritsmission@shaw.ca and she will send you an adoption application.
Update 31 January:
Congratulations Buddy on finding your new family! We know that you will enjoy all that life has to offer you and we are so excited that you are now forever loved.
