Crow !

A nameless stray, who never had a home nor people to love him, who never knew a kind hand, a bowl of food or a warm place to stay was finally rescued after many attempts by an amazing volunteer!

After weeks of slowly gaining his trust this frightened boy realized that this gentle woman offered him only love and a new beginning for a bright and wonderful future.  She named him Crow for his black coat and she knew one day it would be full of shine which would glisten in the sun.

Once Crow was safe he was transported into the care of Big Heart Rescue where he received immediate medical treatment for a belly full of worms, emaciation and neglect.  This darling boy with the soulful eyes accepted every single step along this journey with gentleness, understanding and patience.  He captured the hearts of everyone at the vet hospital and it is abundantly clear that Crow has a certain magic about him that draws people in, in close enough to hear his pleading for a new life filled with the comforts that every friend deserves.

While at the vets Crow had a full blood panel done, was sterilized, vaccinated, de-wormed, de-flead and had his horrific double dew claws removed.  He is already gaining weight and with constant brushing his coat is becoming softer.  He walks well on leash but is afraid of loud vehicle noises from semi trailer trucks or motor cycles.

For the first time in his 11 months on earth he will now begin learning what living inside a house means, that sounds from a TV or a phone ringing is not to be feared and that food does come twice a day, every day!

We believe Crow is a mixture of Belgian Shepherd, Retriever and perhaps a touch of Border Collie or ??  Currently he weighs 65 pounds and should be in the 85 pound range.  This boy tall lanky legs, a beautiful full tail and a heart that is so willing to forgive.

Crow is currently fostered in North Vancouver with another dog and he gets along fine with him.  Cats are unknown and we would suggest a home with older children simply because Crow will be a larger dog and may accidently knock over a younger child.

Update: July 12

Crow is adjusting very well in his foster home and it has been discovered that he has no interest in the resident cat, so if you have a cat at home and were thinking of adding Crow to your family he might just be the boy for you!

He is now eating 4 cups of food per day to help him gain some much needed weight, is resting and recovering nicely from his surgeries and of course is adored by his foster Mom.

The family that adopts this special soulful friend will be very blessed indeed.

Update: 7 Aug

Crow is proud to announce that his foster Mom has fallen in love with him and he is now formally "her boy" !

We wish you all the joys and happiness that the future can hold and we know that sharing your lives together will bring you all nothing but love.
