Koda !

Koda is the 4th member of his family whom we have rescued from Bella Bella. By the second day inside his foster home, he played gently with all the other dogs of every size. A handsome dog, Koda listens well while watching you with very expressive eyes.

After 8 months of being on alert while running alone on the streets, he is settling nicely. Plunking his big 65 pound body down, he enjoys wrestling with the other dogs & investigating the toys.

The first time with a raw bone was pure joy and when he was finished Koda lay on the deck, happier than ever. His eyes seemed to say, "wow, I never knew life could be so great!". He loves being stroked, brushed & simply being able to lie down & relax.

We expect Koda to be approximately the size of a Maremma when fully grown, so about 100 lbs. He is a gentle soul, with loving eyes & loving temperament. Koda enjoys being part of the pack, but also enjoys a bit of alone time. After only 2 days in the big city, he is learning fast that love is possible.

We are working on leash training, as he has never experienced a leash and the safety that comes with it. Lots of treats & and guidance will help him learn that it's all OK.

This boy is looking for a forever home where someone understands the needs of a Maremma crossed with a Lab, who is home the majority of the day and has a securely fenced yard.

Koda would most enjoy a family with people who can help him learn that life is now all good & safe. He is such a handsome, loving boy!

Update: July 12
