Sara !
 

Darling beautiful Sara has now found her new Mom and fur friends where she will spend the rest of her life living with love.

This girl had a very tough start in life. She was chained and bred over and over again until she came into rescue.  Sara was loved by her foster Mom who was the first to care for Sara and help her on the road to recovery.

Sara was then adopted (about 18 months ago) and though the BHR team thought this would be Sara's last home, it was not to be.

While Sara remained in her adoptive family's home BHR sent out urgent messages to those in rescue, including in Washington state, to help find Sara a home.  She was posted on our website, on Petfinder, on a Neo Mastiff rescue board, phone calls were made and many e-mails went out, all with no results.

Then one day the universe came together!  The owners of Sara stated she would be euthanized if we did not find her a home in two days, and on the same day a wonderful woman named Jackie applied to adopt Sara.

Through many e-mails and phone calls, the plan for Sara came together!

A home visit was completed, references for Sara's new Mom were stellar and Sara was about to begin her new adventure with her Auntie being her co-pilot.  We boarded a ferry, enjoyed each other's company for a few hours and once we arrived on the other side the big gentle giant was met by two more Aunties who transported her to Vancouver.

Sara spent a wonderful night playing with fur friends at the Auntie's house, eating her dinner and watching out the window as she waited for her new Mom to arrive in the morning.

When Jackie drove up and walked into the house, well... it was love at first sight!  Yes, these two amazing women had found each other and on that day, a promise was made to Sara that she will never, ever have to move again and lose a family, that she would always be understood and adored, and most importantly that she would be loved more than words can describe. 

The Big Heart Rescue team wishes to thank Jackie for being Sara's Mom and providing for her every need.  We also wish to send all our love to Sara, who has overcome so much in her six years on this earth.

Update:

Sadly, shortly after this beautiful picture was taken, Gordie, Jackie's beautiful Great Dane passed and our team sends all our heart felt love and warmth to the entire family who are missing Gordie so much.
