Xavier !
Xavier
was found lying next to a pair of shoes and socks by a river. The person who
owned the shoes and socks obviously discarded them as garbage, along with a
little loyal boy who waited for his owner to return for him but they never did.
Not only was Xavier's heart broken, it was discovered that at one time he had also been run over by a car and the extensive damage was left to heal on its own. This has resulted in Xavier not being able to weight bare on his rear leg and he must now have a Femoral Head and Neck Resection surgery completed in order to live a pain free life.
At only 40 pounds and one year of age we know that this little soul has many more years to give to a family who will love him forever! He is a favourite at the vets office and we are now asking for your support by helping to sponsor Xavier's surgery. The estimated cost at this time is approximately $1200.00 to $1500.00 and no donation is too small!
Please help Big Heart Rescue to help Xavier find a life that is free of pain, both emotionally and physically.
Update: July 29
Xavier has had his surgery and is well on his way to recovery in his loving medical rehab foster home.
As a matter of fact, this little boy is feeling so good its hard to keep him quiet and peaceful as all he wants to do is play with his furry foster brother!
Xavier has approximately 3 more weeks of crate rest and then he can begin short five minute walks to build up the strength in his hip and leg.
This darling boy delights his foster family with so much love and he has brought rays of sunshine into their lives.
We are now accepting applications for Xavier
but he will not be ready for adoption until the end of Aug.
He will need someone home the majority of the day, a family that is committed to continuing his rehabilitation and will take him to basic training classes. A secure fenced yard is a must and another dog in the family would be great but is not mandatory.
Update: Aug 15
Xavier has found his new Mom and Dad!
Congratulations to you all as you begin your new lives together. We are thrilled to know that Xavier now has a future filled with love and happiness, never to know harm again.
