Our Big Heart Rescue Plant Sale was a huge success! We sold most of the plants, thanks to the penultimate organizing skills of Mary McDowell, a BHR volunteer who offered to have the sale at her home.

The raffle organizers convinced everyone walking by to come see what Big Heart Rescue is all about. One of our foster dogs was there, and was a kid magnet - each one hugging the big teddy bear.

Eleven donated bird houses sold and it was hard for everyone to decide which one to buy! The houses, with their bright springtime colours, attracted all.

We had a raffle, with the 1st prize being a big glazed blue planter, and the 2nd prize being a dog bed with goodies. The generous winners of the dog bed donated back everything but the squeaking rubber chicken! The raffle, bird houses, bay leaves, snacks, ball & brush donations all raised enough money to help with 3 sterilizations.

Everyone enjoyed the day, so we hope to make this an annual event!
