Sawyer
is my name and I am proud of it!
Why am I so proud of my name you might ask? Its because I never had a name before I came into the loving arms of Big Heart Rescue and I didn't even know that dogs had names. You see, I don't know who my Mom is or what happened to my brothers and sisters. I was born in a place far away about 5 months ago and have never ever had someone to care for me or love me. Everyday I wondered all by myself looking for food or a warm place to sleep and I wanted my own family but I could never find them no matter how hard I tried. I cried sometimes when I was afraid or sad but still no one came to help me and I thought I would be alone, always.
It wasn't easy being a baby in the big scary world without anyone to help me and at night when I laid down to rest I worried if I would find enough food to eat or clean water to drink and how I could stop all the fleas from biting me but then one day a wonderful lady scooped me up and said that I was going to a rescue group who would help me to find my very own family. A family who would let me sleep inside the house, who would feed me every single day and where my water bowl would always be full!
So, off on the plane I went and the vet gave me some medicine for my itchy skin, he neutered me (what ever that means) and vaccinated me and tattooed me and micro chipped me and best of all, he gave me a really nice cuddle and told me I was such a good boy!! Can you imagine that someone really told me that I am a good boy, oh my heart sung when I heard this and I am sure that I smiled.
I
arrived at my foster families home on Vancouver Island and found out that other
dogs live there, older children live there and guess what, even a cat lives
there! My foster family told me I would be so happy in my foster home and that
I could learn all about love from them and guess what, I did learn that love is
a very good thing and it makes your heart feel so good when a human touches you
with gentle hands and a twinkle in their eye.
I get to play everyday with my fur family and go for walks where I meet nice people who want to know all about me. My foster Mom says that people "stop in their tracks" because I am so handsome and have big goofy clown feet!
Right now I am a little thin at 42 pounds but with all the good food I am eating I will be putting on weight and everyone guesses I will be a large dog when I am fully grown. Hum, no one is very sure of what breed my Mom and Dad are but the humans are all guessing I might be a mixture of Collie, Retriever and Shepherd. Well, that sounds like a nice mix to me so I will stick with that!
My foster Mom says I am a snuggle muffin who LOVES to hang with people and am a really easy going puppy who is a pleaser and that its now time for me to find my own forever family. I am really excited to think that I get to live with my own family, a family who will love me always and keep me safe so that I never have to worry about being alone and afraid again.
If you think you might be my new family all that I ask (besides loving me, adoring me and being your best friend) is that someone is home most of the day, that you have a fully fenced yard for me to play in and that you are excited about going for walks, playing on the beach and attending basic training classes so we can all learn together so I understand all that I need as I grow up.
This lady named Gail is the one who will look at your application for me so please fill in the on-line application on our website and let's see if we are a match made in heaven.
With all my love and kisses,
Sawyer
