Regardless of your talents or availability there is something for everyone: Bake Sales, Home Checks, Construction, Crafts, Events, Face Painting, Foster Care, Raffles, Photographer, Telephone, Newsletter, Website, Transportation, Garage Sales, Poster Distribution and More!
Big Heart Rescue Volunteers attend community-wide events like Harvest Festivals, Farmer's Markets, Community Sales and Craft Fairs. We also organize independent fundraisers like NU2U Furniture Sales, Pub Nights, Car Wash's and Silent/Live Auctions. Usually some of our rescue dogs come by to help out. They are most attentive while getting their instructions on how to behave for the day. No begging for treats!
Sometimes local businesses will hold a Sale Day or Weekend, and we set up a booth to inform customers about our rescue work, and to raise funds through sales of food, raffle tickets, and tickets to coming events. For example, we joined with several other organizations to hold a fund-raising event at Your Pet Pals, a pet supply store in the Victoria area. 103.1 JACKfm helped promote the event, Nestles gave out ice cream samples, Royal Canin had a booth, Accent Inns provided a draw prize, and the store put lots of their inventory on sale at special prices. Big Heart Rescue volunteers cooked and sold hamburgers (with chips and a cold drink), sold tickets to the Spring Gala (dinner, dance & auction) and also sold tickets to a Mexican Vacation Draw.
